Virginia Jones
Born in Baltimore, USA.
I studied 2 years of Architecture in Uruguay and 3 years of Art
School in Santiago de Chile where I lived from 1964 to 1967.
That year I moved with my parents to Afghanistan where my father,
an uruguayan architect and city planner, worked for the United
Nations, so we had the oportunity to travel throughout the country
and visit India and Pakistan. My first exhibition of inks, engravings
and drawings took place in Kabul. Back in Uruguay I studied with
different artists and since 1995 I work and teach at my own studio
in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
